Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
This policy explains what we do with your information when you use this website or book a party with us. Kids Ink is the data controller. You can reach us on 083 387 8044 or at info@kidsink.ie.
What we collect
- Booking requests: your name, phone number, email, party date/time, child's age, guest count, venue address and county, chosen package, and any notes you add.
- Enquiry and contact forms: your name, phone number, email if you give one, and whatever you write in the message.
- Reviews: your name, email address and the review itself. Your email is never published — we only use it if we need to check a review is genuine.
- Payment (optional): if you choose to pay a deposit or the full price online, your card or PayPal details are entered directly on Stripe's or PayPal's own secure payment page — we never see or store your card details. We only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded.
- Technical data: your IP address, recorded with form submissions to prevent spam and abuse.
- Photos of children: if a photo from a party is used on our gallery or social media, it is only ever used with the parent or guardian's separate, explicit consent, given at the time — never assumed from a booking alone.
Why we use it
To review and confirm your booking, to answer your enquiry, to process an optional deposit or full payment, to publish reviews you have consented to publish, and to keep the website free of spam. We do not use your details for marketing, and we never sell or share them with third parties beyond the payment processor needed to take a payment you've chosen to make.
Legal basis
We rely on your consent when you tick the box on a form, on the performance of a contract when you book a party with us, on our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and protecting the website from abuse, and — where a payment is made — on our legal obligation to keep accounting records under Irish Revenue rules.
How long we keep it
- Booking requests and enquiries: 12 months, unless a payment was taken (see below).
- Bookings where a payment was made: the booking record and payment reference (never the card/PayPal details themselves, which we never receive) are kept for 6 years, as required under Irish Revenue rules for financial and accounting records — this applies even if you later ask us to delete your other details.
- Published reviews: until you ask us to remove them.
- Reviews that are not approved: 3 months, then deleted.
Cookies
We use one strictly necessary cookie to keep your session secure while you use the forms, and we store your cookie choice in your browser so we do not keep asking. Neither is used for tracking. If enabled, Google Analytics only loads after you accept analytics cookies.
Payments & card data
If you choose to pay a deposit or the full price online, your card or PayPal details are entered directly on Stripe's or PayPal's own secure payment page — at no point does this website, or anyone at Kids Ink, see, receive or store your card number, expiry date, CVV, or PayPal login. Our server only ever receives a one-way confirmation that a payment succeeded or was refunded, plus a payment reference ID used to match it to your booking.
Stripe and PayPal act as independent data controllers for the payment details you give them directly, each governed by their own privacy policy: Stripe's privacy policy and PayPal's privacy policy. Both process payments globally, which can mean your payment data is transferred outside the EEA; both provide this under recognised safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses / equivalent adequacy mechanisms) as required under GDPR.
Your rights, and how to use them
Under GDPR you have the right to:
- Access — ask for a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Rectification — ask us to correct anything inaccurate.
- Erasure — ask us to delete your information, subject to the financial-record retention above where a payment was involved.
- Withdraw consent — for anything we hold on the basis of your consent (e.g. a published review), at any time.
- Portability — ask for the information you gave us in a commonly-used format.
To exercise any of these, email info@kidsink.ie or ring 083 387 8044 — tell us which right you're exercising and enough detail to find your record (e.g. name and booking date). We'll respond within one month, as required by GDPR. If you're not happy with how we've handled it, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
